Chinese Pavilion and Duck House

The Chinese Pavilion, also known as the Japanese or Oriental Pavilion, is a wooden shelter with a circular ground plan situated on the bank of the lower pond in the valley of the Zlatý Stream, southeast below the château. This small piece of park architecture enhances the picturesque atmosphere of the château park and offers a peaceful place for rest.

The rustic pavilion was originally built probably in the first half of the 19th century near a landing place on the pond’s shore. During the 20th century, it was replaced by a replica constructed in the third quarter of the last century.

A thorough restoration of the pavilion took place between 2024 and 2025.

Opposite the pavilion, facing the château, stands the so-called Duck House, which was installed on the site in 2025 based on period photographs. As its name suggests, it historically served as a feeding shelter for ducks.
